A lot of times when your EY is NOT looking for a topic one of her trusted followers strikes a chord and EY springs into action...

While it might seem enticing to seek revenge on a co-worker, friend or let's say a "foe"....the energy spent may not succeed the "expected" outcome...sure...lots of people believe in Karma...(EY is one of them) but, doesn't Karma seem forever when we prefer instant gratification?...we want to know that the source of our suffering is suffering immediately...if not sooner...

Don't wish harm to anyone...instead...when you think of them in your mind's eye...surround them with mirrors...
If they give out good energy they will get good energy if they don't..well...than they have no one to blame but themselves!..Justice will be served...by their own hand...or...is that "reflection"...

Your EY enjoys giving advice and once in a while it's important to note..that even an Employment Yenta needs to seek advice as well...sometimes when you are into the mode of giving...you forget that you can and should receive as well...
This morning, EY found herself in a dilemma...she was stuck...and...she reached out to her friend...we'll call her "Mrs E"...to remain completely anonymous...(not to be confused with a psychic! Mrs E is a true gal pal of EY)...

How true is that...who knows you better than you!...we all have a Mrs E in our lives...next time you are stuck...check in with yourself!

Now that we have put Labor Day to rest...it's time to focus on a crisp new start for the Fall.
Sometimes we become complacent....satisfied with the day to day...we don't question what might be..
It's important not to lose your "flair"...everyone has "flair" in a different way....whether it be at communications...power point...presentations or politics...yes, even that!
Whatever your "savoir faire"...keep it alive...practice...network...

And, a Happy Labor Day ahead of time to all of you....which brings me to the point...don't procrastinate...waiting on things..work/home projects, reports, etc...will weigh heavily on your mind and cause your Holiday(s) to be less relaxing..so, don't wait for January to make a New Year's resolution (that you might put off:)..take the opportunity of this Labor Day reprieve to create less labor for you going forward!
It may be the end of the Summer..but, you can make it all Fall into place!

Hello All Help Wanted Seekers!

There comes a time in one's career when we are faced with possibilities....maybe we are comfortable where we are in life...things are running on even keel....and...then.... "Super Recruiter" makes a visit and provides us with "possibilities"....more money....bigger title...different industry...all things add up to "excitement".
It feels great to go for interviews and find out...we "are" great....it seems...we are the next best thing to sliced bread! Our egos run rampant....and....our current roles...well, suddenly we feel we are not appreciated...we aren't getting the accolades we deserve... the "new" company sees so such promise ..and... we question...why is our current management sitting on their hands...
Sound familiar??
Well, the grass isn't always greener...there are brown spots everywhere...there are times when we are so caught up with the excitement.....we only see what we want to see.
I'm not here to tell you not to take a risk...I am all about risk and reward...but, keep your perspective... make a list of pros and cons...does your current company offer you things the new company will not (i.e. flex time)
So, take a walk on the grass...but, be aware...it's not ALL green!

The New Kid on The Block Syndrome

"The New Kid on The Block...comes with some rules and rather than "regulations", I would prefer to say..."reservations".
It's tempting to burst upon the scene and try to "Help" by  infusing your way of doing things.....processes, etc. (this is often known as: "this is how we did it in my former life")
As appealing as it might be to jump in and spout your ideas...it's better to..sit back...observe..and..gauge the team dynamics...
You want the team to buy your ideas without you having to sell them...
 Gaining trust takes time!
